Dr. Elizabeth (Buffy) Trent
Dr. Trent is a licensed psychologist, specializing in early childhood mental health. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas and her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Trent completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology at Boston Medical Center. She received specialized training in early childhood mental health at the USC University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where she completed her post-doctoral fellowship.
Dr. Trent takes a relationship-based approach in her work with children and families. She has experience in a variety of interdisciplinary settings, collaborating with physicians, teachers, and other providers to ensure developmentally-appropriate services. She has a passion for psychological and neurodevelopmental assessment and for supporting families in their understanding of social-emotional challenges, developmental differences, and the impact of trauma. Dr. Trent is bilingual in English and Spanish and is an advocate for linguistically- and culturally-affirming care. In her spare time, Dr. Trent enjoys spending time outdoors, playing music, and crafting.
