Deirdre Teaford, Ph.D.

Education & Experience

Dr. Teaford earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Rhodes College in Memphis and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Most recently, Dr. Teaford worked in private practice with children with learning disabilities, ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and developmental disabilities. She has worked with adolescents with depression, bipolar disorder, and other anxiety disorders, and has conducted numerous evaluations for autism-spectrum disorders. Her experience working as a contract psychologist for schools and serving as a member of an IEP team complements her experience in providing psychological services to families.

Dr. Teaford has five years experience in the Pediatric Oncology Department at Wake Forest University School of Medicine where she served as first psychologist on the pediatric oncology team. She has extensive experience working with family systems, assisting parents in receiving recommendations and providing psychological and educational testing. Dr. Teaford is a certified provider of Cogmed Working Memory Training and is a member of the American Psychological Association. In her spare time, Dr. Teaford enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.
