Dr. Aaron Skalicky

Education & Experience

Dr. Skalicky is a licensed psychologist. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Georgia. While at U.G.A., Dr. Skalicky was very fortunate to receive mentoring from Dr. George Hynd, a world-renowned researcher in the field of brain development and learning. Dr. Skalicky trained in the department of Pediatric Neuropsychology at the Medical College of Georgia and was appointed lead graduate student clinician at the U.G.A. Center for Clinical and Developmental Neuropsychology.

Dr. Skalicky began his doctoral career as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, performing evaluations and providing educational and behavioral interventions. In the process, he gained expertise with regulations (e.g., Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act, Section 504) that dictate when special services are offered in public schools. Having spent the most recent years of his career in private practice, Dr. Skalicky remains convinced that learning and behavioral health are best understood in tandem and within the framework of brain development.

In addition to his professional experience, Dr. Skalicky has provided leadership and community service in a number of capacities. He considers a year-long volunteer position in England, where he coordinated a mentoring program for juvenile offenders, as one of his most rewarding experiences. Dr. Skalicky is currently active in community service as a member of the Fort Collins Breakfast Rotary.
